About

Todd Marshall-Closson is a graduate of the University of Alaska A.A.S. Digital Art program, and is currently pursuing his Bachelors of Arts degree. He has significant experience in the business world and owns a fine art portrait studio. Todd has numerous interests in other mediums such as drawing, painting and fiber structures. However his main interest lies in photography. Todd has had work in many venues in his hometown of Soldotna, Alaska and has also had work in the Alaska Positive 2006 statewide traveling exhibit. Todd has continued his passion of the fine art portrait and has just completed a three year photo essay on “Body Image”.

Todd Marshall-Closson is a fine art portraitist, who engages in a collaborative and interactive approach in creating an image of an individual.
Since portraits tend to be stories of strangers, Todd Marshall-Closson strives to create images a viewer’s heart can feel, even after their eyes are closed.
Always willing to collaborate with his models, the sitting experience is gauranteed for satisfaction.

Landscapes

Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer - and often the supreme disappointment. Both the grand and the intimate aspects of nature can be revealed in the expressive photograph. Nudes

Why nudes? Nude photography is illuminating the beauty of the human body. It celebrates the form of the human body. It may focus on the sexuality of the human form but it is not pornography. It is emotional rather than explicit. It is symbolic and not risqué. And it is not as easy as simply taking snapshots of the unclothed body. Indeed the emotional requirement is trust. The model should feel comfortable with me as a photographer. Comfort is a must for any portrait, but most especially for nudes, I take the time to needed for my model to be at ease, including chaperoned or private as-needed sessions.
